Create your first guide

1. Choose Click recorder or AI guide. Give the guide a title, choose whether to record video, and enable microphone narration only if needed.
2. Select a window or display in the Windows picker. Perform the workflow. Use the compact toolbar to pause, mark a step, or stop.
3. Review the numbered steps. Edit titles and instructions, select a before/after frame, crop images, and add callouts or opaque redactions.
4. For AI Guide, choose Draft with local AI after recording. Review the captured evidence for each suggestion before accepting it. Your own text stays intact until you accept a change.
5. Choose Export guide. Review all visible text, images, captions, and narration before sharing the result.

Prepare for offline work

While online, install the optional narration and instruction models in Local AI models. The downloads total approximately 2.46 GiB; allow extra disk space for verification and rollback. Local inference requires an x64 processor with AVX2, FMA, and BMI2 support. A laptop with 16 GB RAM is recommended.

In Offline setup, check that an English Windows OCR recognizer is available and run Verify PDF export to confirm WebView2 can create a PDF. An English display language alone does not guarantee OCR is installed. Use the language settings link if repair is needed.

Restart the app and test a complete workflow with networking disabled before relying on it offline. Offline qualification across supported hardware is still in progress.

Export formats

• PDF: searchable instructions with rendered images.
• Word: editable text and embedded rendered images.
• HTML: one offline file containing images. With video enabled, extract the ZIP and open index.html beside tutorial.mp4.
• PNG: a new folder of numbered step images. Text-only steps are skipped; numbering follows the guide.
• MP4: an edited tutorial or image walkthrough, with captions and optional narration.

Recovery and download help

If the app or a worker stops unexpectedly, reopen the guide to recover committed work. Keep the destination drive connected so interrupted export files can be cleaned up. Use Retry interrupted-export cleanup in Offline setup if necessary. Completed exports are preserved.

For an interrupted model download, use Download / resume. If verification or loading fails, use Repair. An installed working version remains available during an update. Metered downloads require your explicit choice.

Working projects are encrypted for your Windows profile. Back up the profile and its keys. Exported documents are sharing copies, not restorable project archives.

Keyboard controls

• Ctrl+Alt+P: pause or resume recording.
• Ctrl+Alt+M: mark a step.
• Ctrl+Alt+S: stop recording.
• Ctrl+Shift+Up / Down: reorder the focused step in the editor.

Report a problem or inappropriate AI output

In Offline setup, select Prepare an AI feedback report. Describe the issue, then open a draft in your mail app or save a local report. Review it and send it to support@meetingscribes.com. You control what is shared; no capture content is attached automatically.

Helpful details include your app version, Windows version, the feature involved, and steps to reproduce the issue. Do not send passwords, confidential work, or complete recordings unless you have deliberately reviewed and chosen to share them.
